Our History
With roots extending over 150 years, Kingsley Tresidder Funeral Service has a rich history rooted in tradition and a strong commitment to community. Kingsley Tresidder began assisting his father, Len, in the mid-1970s, officially joining the family business in 1981. Five years later, in 1986, Kingsley and his wife Sandra took over, continuing to build on the values of compassion, respect and dignity that have always defined our approach.
In the early 2010s, Kingsley and Sandra were joined by their daughter, Julie, and son, Steven, marking the beginning of a third generation in the family business. Both Julie and Steven share the same values and commitment to providing the unique, friendly and personal service for which the business is renowned.
Although we remain based in Ponsanooth, our reach has expanded to serve a wider area, including Stithians, Perranwell Station, Carnon Downs, Lanner, Penryn, Falmouth and surrounding communities.
In November 2022, we lost our beloved husband and father, Kingsley. His passing has marked a deeply poignant new chapter for us. Today, Sandra, Julie, and Steven continue to carry forward his legacy, remaining devoted to the values he instilled in the business.
As proud members of the National Association of Funeral Directors, we are committed to upholding the association’s code of conduct and core values. Julie, who holds their Diploma in Funeral Arranging and Administration, recently earned her Diploma in Funeral Directing, the same qualification held by her father. She was the first in Cornwall to obtain the new Higher Diploma in Funeral Directing introduced by the NAFD in 2022.

Meet The Family
At Kingsley Tresidder Funeral Service, we are a close-knit family team — Sandra, Julie, and Steven — continuing the legacy of Kingsley who built the foundations of our business.
As a mother, daughter, and son working side by side, we combine years of experience with a great understanding of what families need during times of loss. Each of us brings our own strengths, but we are united by one purpose: to help you honour your loved one with a fitting, respectful, and meaningful farewell.

sANDRA tRESIDDERDirector
Sandra began working alongside her husband Kingsley in 1991, playing a vital role in setting up each funeral and supporting families behind the scenes. Her attention to detail, and quiet strength helped shape the values that still guide the business today. Over the years, she became a trusted and reassuring figure for many, always offering a listening ear and a steady hand. Since Kingsley’s passing, Sandra has continued the work they began together. While she still plays an active role in supporting families, she is also deeply involved in supporting the business with administration duties such as administering charitable donations and accounting. You will still find Sandra attending to the finer details on the day of the funeral ensuring that each service goes as smoothly as possible. Outside of work, Sandra enjoys gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. |
Julie BurleyDirector
Julie joined the business in 2012. She brings a thoughtful and personal approach to every family she works with. Having grown up around the business, she understands the emotional weight of arranging a funeral — and is committed to making the process as gentle and supportive as possible. Julie holds the NAFD’s Diploma in Funeral Arranging and Administration, together with the Higher Diploma in Funeral Directing. She takes an active role in every stage of the process – from the initial arrangements to overseeing the fine details on the day of the service. She manages much of the administration and is often carefully preparing Orders of Service, setting up music and ensuring everything runs smoothly in the background. Julie offers calm guidance and care, and the reassurance that nothing is overlooked. She takes pride in making families feel heard and supported. Julie is our Authorised Seller for Golden Charter Funeral Plans and deals with all aspects of funeral plan sales. Away from work, Julie enjoys walking her dog, Len, gardening, and enjoying family time. She is married to Mark and has two adult children, Perran and Lowenna. During the summer you will find her at Falmouth Cricket Club, supporting her son who plays for their first team. |
Steven Tresidder
Director
Steven joined the business in 2013. He wears many hats in the family business, working as both a Funeral Director and Funeral Operative, Steven plays a key role in ensuring everything runs smoothly, respectfully, and with quiet professionalism. He supports families through every step, from the first call to the day of the funeral itself. He conducts services with care, guiding families through the day, ensuring everything runs as it should. He also takes great pride in the care of the deceased – ensuring that loved ones are always treated with the utmost dignity and respect. From preparation and presentation to overseeing transportation and final arrangements, Steven’s attention to detail is at the heart of what he does. In addition, he manages the day-to-day logistics, including vehicle preparation and co-ordinating bearers, ensuring everything runs smoothy. In his spare time, Steven enjoys walking his dog, Molly and spending time with his family. He is married to Zoe and has two children, Sophie and Jack. He is an avid Falmouth Town Supporter and has been from a very early age attending games with his dad, Kingsley and grandfather, Len. |

As you come down the hill from the Redruth side you will see the Village shop down on your right hand side and the Stag Hunt pub up ahead of you before you get to the left bend in the road, we are situated in the left hand side turning.
